Compounding in Call of Duty

Compounding is a key technique to make ammunition work as a good combat tool. Unfortunately, it is not easy to make proper ammunition in Call of Duty. Many players find themselves with a brain damage induced by ammunition.

Combat is all about reading each situation, so you must understand how your ammunition works. When you load your weapon, there will be no ammo mark in your HUD. You can flip your weapon mode to nonlethal to see the ammunition counter.

If you need to reload, you should feel free to get out of cover and go back into a safe corner.

Combat Tip: The H.E.R.S. system in Call of Duty is very similar to the Q.E.D. system from Gears of War. You can easily transition from weapons to H.E.R.S. with a simple Q key press. You will get a prompt to load the next H.E.R.S. weapon.

On the other hand, weapons without H.E.R.S. are difficult to control. You must be careful to aim and fire through cover whenever possible. Otherwise, you might die in a fight.
