Change img height based on content without Javascript or JQuery

I have several img’s on a page. The height of the images is different for each one, so the heights may vary.
I’m using some responsive CSS code and I’m trying to use the first image that comes after the wrapper, with a fixed height of 70px.
This seems simple but I can’t seem to get it to work. It seems like my JS code is being overridden by the CSS.

I’m not sure why you’re saying that your js code is being overridden by the CSS. But if you try using javascript to retrieve the height, it works:
$(“#brandLogo”).height()

However, you don’t need to set the height on the element itself. You can make use of the img’s aspect ratio (which is the ratio of its width to height) and then set the height of the wrapper div.
