XCAT or Xen/OpenVZ Controller
xCAT is the Xen, OpenVZ, LXC and LXD controller for Linux, UNIX and OS/390 Xen guests. The xCAT controller is based on the xCAT project, a free open source project for Linux (and variants), OS/390 and Solaris.

How to install the xCAT controller on a Windows machine.
On a Windows machine go to

Download the tar.gz file and unpack it to a folder of your choice.
Put that directory in your PATH. For example for the Debian/Ubuntu distribution its /opt/.

$export PATH=/path/to/the/directory/with/tar.gz
Add ‘xCAT=y’ in the /etc/init.d/rc.local file with the service xCAT start command.

$grep xCAT /etc/init.d/rc.local

If the system already has xCAT installed then
Click on Start > Service Manager > Services > Services that start at boot –> In the list of services check if xCAT is listed.
