Photoshop CS6’s general interface has been modified slightly compared to previous versions. Some of these modifications, such as the option to toggle behavior on the computer monitor display, have been criticized for being either too subtle or too distracting.
The new features and interface are worth the upgrade for professionals. However, if you’re a beginner, you may find that some of the changes require a little getting used to.

Creating a Custom Toolbar
You create custom toolbars to allow you to configure and keep organized all the main functions of Photoshop. You can also have more than one toolbar. You can manage your toolbars in several ways:
You can create separate custom toolbars for different projects.
You can have a toolbar for your primary working environment with custom tabs for specific functions.
You can group related tools into tabs and then store these tabs in a single toolbar.
You can also rearrange the order of buttons in a toolbar when you customize it, and you can also hide or display specific toolbars.
To create a toolbar:
1. Choose Window⇒Customize.
2. Choose Toolbars, and the Toolbars panel opens.
3. To create a new toolbar, from the Toolbars panel, choose New from the New drop-down list.
4. On the Toolbar Tab of the Toolbar Options dialog box that appears (see Figure 2-15), type a name for your new toolbar, and then create the tabs you want for your tool.
5. You can have different toolbars for different projects.
6. To add a button to the Toolbar tabs, click the button to open the Ribbon and then double-click the command you want.
7. To remove a button from the tool, click the button and press Delete.
8. When you’ve finished, click OK to apply the changes.

Tutorial: Basic Image Editing With Photoshop Elements
The first thing you will see when you start Adobe Photoshop Elements is the main window. It is divided into three sections. The top section contains the options and tools that you can use to work with your photos. The second section contains the images that you work with, as well as other options. The bottom section shows the currently opened file.
1. The Options Window
The options window, which is located in the bottom right-hand corner of the main window, controls several settings.
To open the options window, click the triangle icon in the corner of the main window and then select Photoshop Elements > Preferences.

Brushes
Brushes control the appearance of an image. You can move the brush around the canvas and paint anywhere on the image. Each area of the canvas has its own set of brushes, allowing you to paint in multiple layers.
Brushes are different from Photoshop’s pens, pen tools, lasso tools, and magic wand tools. All of these tools operate in a similar manner, allowing you to define a starting point and ending point, and then select a single pixel within that area. Pen tools define the exact location of the selected pixel, while brushes allow you to move freely around the canvas.
Brushes are the most basic tools in Photoshop. You can use several different types of brushes, including painting, retouching, and applying other effects to your image. By choosing a brush type, you define where the painted pixel lands. You can use several brush types at once.
PaintingBrush
A PaintingBrush lets you paint with colors and patterns in black and white. Once you’ve placed the painting on the canvas, you can increase its opacity to increase or decrease its coverage.
The Brush Controls dialog box includes options for resizing and moving the brush, and for controlling the pattern and color of the brush. You can view the entire brush pattern by clicking the Preview button.
Creating a painting brush is simple. To start, choose PaintingBrush from the Brush Type tool. After selecting the brush type and size, press the Brush Create Paintbrush button. The brush appears on the canvas.
Press Esc or to exit the Brush dialog box. The brush remains on the canvas until you move it or change its settings.
WarpingBrush
WarpingBrush lets you warp an image into three dimensions. Warp mode allows you to distort an image to create many different effects. This tool makes it easy to create futuristic images or reflections, for example.
To warp an image, select the Warp brush type and a choice of one of the following modes from the Brush Type dialog box:
The original brush determines the direction and size of the warp effect. The second and third brushes control the direction and size of the image distortion in horizontal and vertical directions. You can resize the brush and the distorted area, change the brush color, and click the preview button to see a preview of the effect.

COOK COUNTY, Ill. — The US Attorney’s Office in Chicago says actor Aziz Ansari’s romantic encounter with a woman was consensual, but a criminal charge could still be filed against him if she ever changes her story.
US Attorney’s Office spokeswoman Sally F. Yates says her office stands by the investigation and looks forward to its conclusion.
Yates didn’t comment on whether Ansari would be charged criminally. She says the investigation is ongoing and potential charges could be filed after the woman is interviewed again.
A prosecutor says in December an “open investigation” began when the Illinois attorney general’s office received a report that the woman alleged the sex she had with Ansari was non-consensual.
The charge came after Ansari admitted to misconduct last week while denying he had engaged in non-consensual sex with the woman, the Associated Press reports. He said the two started drinking at a private New York City bar in October 2016, and he kissed the woman, then laid down on a bed in his apartment in the West Village.
Ansari, who hosts a Netflix talk show, also spoke out after the woman posted to Facebook in April of 2017 to claim the sexual encounter was non-consensual, citing his “ignorance of my boundaries.”
Ansari called the encounter consensual in a statement in the Times and denied it had occurred.
“Some time later, I heard from her that she posted something about it on Facebook,” he said. “I spoke to her and she threatened to go to the press. I convinced her that wouldn’t be a good idea and we went to talk to a lawyer.
