The information in this section applies to Photoshop CS5 and later. For layer style editing in CS3, visit the Photoshop CS3 help section on page 38. For more information on layer styles, read the help section “Understanding the Layers Panel” on page 22.
The greatest thing about Adobe Photoshop is its ability to control color. In addition to letting you alter the hue, saturation, and brightness of colors, the program can change color to black and white, simulate dirt, create a desaturated gray, and add other effects.
One of the most useful features of Photoshop is the ability to apply a style that looks like an object or background color. These styles are called _layer styles_, and they’re among the most powerful functions in the program. You can choose from dozens of ready-made styles, and you can create your own using the tools in this section.
To edit a layer style, first you need to display the _layers panel,_ shown in Figure 2-1. The layers panel shows the selected image, along with every layer contained within it. (For more information on the layers panel, see the box on Customizing the Layers Panel in the next section.) Each layer in the panel can be displayed as a different color, to help you identify them. The Layers panel also displays each layer’s opacity level.
You can also control the position of each layer and their color settings by clicking a layer in the layer list. (For more information on the Layers panel, see the box on The Layers Panel)

The present invention relates to a slot machine and a gaming machine which indicates the winning number via a medium.
A slot machine (hereinafter, referred to as a slot machine) is designed to operate in various ways according to a winning of a player. Slot machines having the same gambling characteristics are installed in gaming halls, for example, but the winning number or the winning ratio differs each machine.
In a general slot machine, the winning number or the winning ratio (hereinafter, referred to as the “winning”) does not display. It is determined by detecting the stop of rotating a spinning reel. The winning is determined when a predetermined winning number or winning ratio is detected. If the winning number is detected in a “numpad”, a winning indicating reel is rotated, and the winning display device is lit so as to indicate the winning.
There are two types of display devices: the flashing display device for flashing to indicate the winning by lighting; and the display device for displaying when the slot machine is inactive, and the display device for displaying the winning when the slot machine is active.
The flashing display device flashes by reversing the direction in which the display device of the slot machine is displayed when the rotation of the motor stops. The display device has a power consumption of the order of 100-200 mA when it flashes. On the other hand, when it displays, the power consumption is at the order of 200-500 mA.
On the other hand, the display device for displaying on the slot machine when the slot machine is inactive does not flash. If the display device is lit when the slot machine is inactive, the display device may be damaged by an impact or pressure from a button or a depressing lever during the following operation.
The display device for displaying on the slot machine when the slot machine is active does not flash. If the display device is lit when the slot machine is inactive, the display device may be damaged by an impact or pressure from a button or a depressing lever during the following operation.
In some slot machine, it is difficult to display the winning on a display device because of the decoration of the walls of the gaming hall, a space on the display device for the winning, and so on.
In other slot machine, there are many parts which require attention. When the display device is lit to indicate the winning, there are cases where this makes the hall darker. The display device for displaying the winning when the slot machine is inactive may be damaged
