The History Viewer is an extremely simple application which allows you to view the content of specified folders in time order.
Nothing more, nothing less
This application runs without a visual interface, as you’re only taken to a few windows when needed.
To start with, a context menu offers you the possibility to search by type, file, extension, start and end dates, and also browse items in specific folders.
The program opens a nice collection of all files found in specified folders, and lets you do one of the following:
Rename the selected items
Open the selected item in a new window
Copy the selected item
Remove selected items
The first three items just take you to the appropriate windows that display the selected item in a more convenient way. The Remove option, on the other hand, takes you to a neat “remove” window where you can choose the files or folders to be removed.
The popup menu is a total breeze, as it offers you to move, copy, or create shortcuts of the selected item. In case you don’t want to do that, you can always add a new folder, or a special folder which you want to use as a new, fixed location.
All in all, the History Viewer is a tool that fills a small hole in Windows, and lets you quickly find out what files are stored in certain folders.
Design and main window
As it turns out, this is a wxWidgets application, which means the visual interface can only be created using the provided framework. It’s used for all the main functions, but most importantly for the context menu, where you’ll find most of the “real” stuff.
You’ll see a list of all the items that are found, along with their size in bytes, new item count, user date, item type, and the path to the item’s location.
You can toggle any of the list’s items, and immediately open them in a new window. On the other hand, if the selected item is a file, you can also create shortcuts and put them in an external folder.
One thing that’s missing is the ability to sort items, but that’s pretty much it.
Getting started with the History Viewer is pretty simple.
Installation is the last thing you need to do, and it’s a very easy affair. You

HoverScripter is used for helping you create keyboard shortcuts, in which case the main window reveals a list of currently installed hotkeys for the active programs.
You may select multiple groups of hotkeys and see a description of each key in the list. You can remove hotkeys, as well as add new hotkeys if they are not listed in the list.
You can use HoverScripter to create keyboard shortcuts for controlling your favorite programs. The software is easy to handle and intuitive so it’s up to you if you want to use it or not.
