When VR arrived and I sat down to play Overload, I was looking for more of the same, but I wanted more realism, more options, more functionality, and more depth. I wanted to make a boat sim, and I wanted a boat sim with three-dimensional modeling on par with the powerboat sims I’d been playing for years before VR, and I wanted all that to happen in a way that gave people new to VR a way to get up to speed. I also wanted the non-VR features of Overload to be as realistic as possible without weighing down the performance side of the game.
And the more I played with the 3D boat model, the more I realized I could have a game that satisfied all those needs, and it didn’t need a version for VR. There was no reason to do so.
Speedboats: took a while to finish, but its weight, feature set, and performance helped me decide to never do a VR version of this game. Time to move on.
Speedboats: is the only powerboat sim I’ve ever played that I’d recommend to people without being a boat person. If you are a boat person, or are looking for a powerboat sim, then Overload will likely satisfy your needs, but for those of you who are new to sim racing or VR, I suggest taking a look at Speedboats:. I think you’ll like it.
You can find Speedboats: on Steam ( it’s a standalone game). It’s also available for Oculus Rift and Vive. You can also download a copy of the sim from the game’s site here: Speedboats: The sim supports a keyboard, gamepad and even Oculus and Vive controllers.

Vektor Wars is a fast-paced first-person arcade shooter set in a dark cyberpunk future. From the creators of Kingdom of Steel, Vektor Wars is the only game featuring robot dogs and cheeky humour along with heavy, full-on genre trappings.
In Vektor Wars, players assume the role of Commander James Moses, a Space Ranger in the year 2024, charged with stopping the spread of the wicked and destructive Bezerker robots, which have come into being after 10,000 years of hibernation. Unfortunately Commander Moses finds his job cut out for him; an Army of Roboticell phones are out to see how long they can go without being caught and to where they can flee to. The AI Robots are doing all the work on behalf of the Bezerkers and causing chaos all over the world, as they plan to take over the human race.
Players guide their Space Ranger through a variety of scenarios, within a world they can revisit repeatedly, in order to reach their final destination: the Bezerker City and defeat the evil robots. There are nine levels in the game, each with its own unique environment, enemies and challenges.
Gameplay focuses on the player’s ability to survive in the various environments by taking out the threat at hand. The player’s robotic dog, Shrapnel, not only helps them traverse the land, but it also serves as an exoskeleton, protecting them from damage.
Three weapons are available to the player: a heavy machine gun, rockets and a powerful laser blast. As the game progresses it introduces more sophisticated weapons, such as a grenade launcher and a time-based explosive.
The Bezerkers have shut down the power supply to the space station, leaving Commander Moses and Shrapnel to fight for their survival.
Features:
• Classic arcade gameplay – get your hands on a variety of weapons and use them to overcome hordes of enemies!
• Fast-paced action – dodge bullets, dodge plasma beams and lead the enemy!
• Fun for the whole family – over 13 hours of gameplay!
• Earn points to unlock new vehicles and characters
• Cute doggy friend – Shrapnel is your trusty robotic sidekick!
• Original soundtrack
• Multiple characters and worlds to explore

This is actually a classic game, made in the 90’s, although I’ve never played it. It reminds me of Uprising, of which I can’t remember if I have played, but I would love to if I did.
Been playing quite a few of these lately, lately it’s been falling back on the ones I played back in the 90’s like
Dune 2D
Angels Strike Back
The Lost World
BattleDrome
Command & Conquer 3D
Impossible Road
Robotron 2084
Clive The Jewel
Wildcat
Crimson Skies
The discovery of Planet Eden (1988)
Scorpion
The lost planet (1989)
Marine Dreamer
…and I need to play those as well :/ too lazy to get those from my local library right now

I’m thinking about picking up some of these old games, reminds me of stuff I played when I was a kid – the reason I think about any games I played when I was younger is because I also played a few Command & Conquer games on the PC.
I tried playing a few of these today and
Dune: Empire
Command & Conquer 3D
Rampage
BattleDrome
Dune 2D
The Lost World
Advanced War Games
Robotron 2084

“Probe Love Song” is a song by English electronic music band Sneaker Pimps. It was released as the fifth and final single from their second studio album, The Hard Way in October 1999, in Europe as a double A-side with the dance version of their previous single, “Meet You in the Dark”. The single was released in the United States in late November 1999 and peaked at #19 on the US Dance chart. This is the only single to feature bassist, Mosquito, not having any vocals. “Probe Love Song” was also released as the first UK single in 2000. The song was released in France with the title “Probe d’Amour” and only digitally in Scandinavia. From 2013 to 2015 the song was used in season 10 (and seasons 11 and 12) of the American television series How I Met Your Mother, in which one of the songs played during the series is exclusively distributed on iTunes for the first three seasons, being replaced by “Probe Love Song” for season 4 and after.
Background and production
“Probe Love Song” was composed by Sneaker Pimps’ bassist and producer, DJ Prince on his Studio M in Corsham England. Snipe P owes big thanks to working at the studio for trying out new ideas as he for example played the lead parts from his beloved Korg keyboard as keyboard themes using the piano patches from that machine. The track is classified as dance pop, as seen in the credits it was mixed by Tony Morningside.
